Spring Lookbook 2 - Boyfriend Jeans
Some might say boyfriend jeans should remain firmly in your other half's wardrobe at the risk of making you look like you are drowning in denim. I beg to differ! Over the past few years a number of high end and affordable brands have come up with incredibly flattering boyfriend jeans for women. I have a few pairs from Asos and Topshop, and trust me, If I could live in them, I would!
Boyfriend jeans are very comfortable and can be very stylish if you find the right pair. I like to wear mine in a way that is not too masculine and filmed a lookbook (below) showing how I tend to style my distressed pair from Asos.
Top 3 tips for Boyfriend jeans
1. (Grabbing your crotch is completely optional and uncouth lol, but I don't know what possessed me)
I find that heels elongate the legs and bring back the femininity that could be lost with baggy jeans! There is also something about pairing them with my Asos neon court shoes that I love. Maybe its the fact that they are a great way to mix the neon and pointy heels trend as shown in myhow-we-are-rocking-itpost, either way <3
2. Its easy to just go super casual when in boyfriend jeans, however you bear the risk of looking frumpy if not styled right. In the picture below I am only wearing a vest and slip on shoes and that would normally be it. However, just throwing on a blazer smartens up the look so its not too 'I couldn't be bothered to dress up this morning!'
3. You cant get more casual than a T-shirt with jeans, however, slipping into a pair of single strap heels is also a quick way to glam up your boyfriend jeans should you wish.
For styling in motion checkout the lookbook video below and let me know if you liked it! :-) Oh and it would be great to hear where your favorite pair of boyfriend jeans are from so I could check them out! It's about time I branch out from my usual high street stores!
So I recently got over the 10,000 subscribers mark on my youtube channel Allisbelle and I can't tell you how pleased I am! Maybe the video below will help :-).
As a thank you to my subscribers on youtube and my blog, I will be giving away the beaded black and white clutch bag shown in the video! The bag is from Zara, and as an obsessive of that brand, it is only right that I share the love! Watch the video and check out the entry requirements below!
Entry Requirements are simple:
1) You must be subscribed to my youtube channel - Allisbelle
2) You must also be subscribed to either my Hair Channel (Belleshair) or my Vlog channel (Lifeandbelle) - take your pick! The hair channel is will chronicle my hair journey while the vlog channel just records anything I do that is quite exciting, eg quite a few ibiza videos on there already!
3) Follow this blog on google friend connect - easy peasy, just use the GFC link on the right side of this page
Once you have done all four, please leave a comment on my Facebook page letting me know which of my hair or vlog channels you subscribed to and the type of content you would be interested in seeing. For instance, if you subscribed to my hair channel, you could state that you'd like to see how i condition my hair etc. If you subscribed to my vlog channel (or both) you could ask to see specific things in Paris, Barcelona or Ibiza - the destinations of my holiday next month!
The giveaway winner will be announced on the 10th of May, good luck and thank you so much for sticking with this newbie blogger/vlogger!
Finally, the sun is here and we can really say it feels like spring in London. Sort of. Its warm enough to whip out the shorts but still so cold you really have to pair them with tights! At least the sun is out so for that at least, I am thankful!
Long box braids are one of my favorite hair styles mainly because of how easy they are to manage and how much of a great protective style they are. My hair grows so much in my braids and the high bun is one of my favorite styles to do!
Loving Zara Perfumes - Inexpensive with a gorgeous scent!
As if I don't love Zara enough already, now I've found something else in there to obsess over -perfumes!
I'd been hearingmurmursof how Zara perfumes are meant to be dupes of more expensive designer fragrances like Vicktor & Rolf's flower bomb but to be honest I never really paid attention because I wasn't looking you know?
I'll be honest, I've been more than a little bit excited about the anticipated launch of Rihanna's collaboration with MAC cosmetics. As Ruby woo is my signature and ultimate red lipstick, I've been very curious to see what its variant, Riri woo would look like! Read more »
Its so easy to presume that everyone knows what bloggers/vlogger colloquialisms are, so much so that I use them in my everyday life to many a raised eyebrow! Apologies, OOTD means outfit of the day and this time I have two sets to show off :-)
Natasha of bisousnatasha gorgeousness and I met up for what was meant to be a vintage shopping expedition on Portobello Road, unfortunately the rain and cold meant that we gave up on that idea quickly and took refuge in the quaintest little cafe for Brunch instead.
We did manage to film a streetstyle type ootd video (above), hope you like it! It amazes me how much time it takes to edit a one minute video so please like, share, comment and all that good stuff if you like it. That will serve as my pat on the back lol.
Seriously though, check out REAL model Natasha's blog. I found it last year and thoroughly enjoyed browsing through her stylling posts, especially her DIYs!

Brightly coloured court heels are one of my favorite spring trends this year and I've been meaning to get a pair even before I posted an ode to them in my "howwearerockingit" street style post (here).
At first I wanted the Gwenda pointed courts from Topshop, but then I was sold on the Asos Pasha pair as they were £25 cheaper, and hardly any different!
I think these heels are so versatile, I will be doing a styling post on them soon but so far I've worn them with boyfriend jeans and a jumper and I'll be wearing them tomorrow styled with a black fitted dress!
Guys you know I'm still quite new to blogging and I'm so pleased my spring monochrome Lookbook postgot featured on IFB! Its nearly 3am London time but Im so excited! That post and video took me absolutely ages to make so Im beyond ecstatic that it was recognised!
Plus, its the first time my blog has ever been featured on anything! :-D Hopefully more features to come! Plase heck out the the full post below, I was in wonderful company in this feature so check out the other blogs too! xoxo
"The Style Economy
Wow, this was a tough week. There were enough great posts in the submissions to make TWO roundups... but alas, there is only room for 20. So making a mix of informative, introspective, and fun posts I really got to pick some fun posts from the community! It seemed like we had our mind on our money and our money on our mind this week as there were some great posts linking lipstick and shoes to the economy, how to set your wardrobe budget, a wonderful example of restyling items in our wardrobe and a great tips on finding Spring accessories on the cheap. So click on, you'll be delighted by the things you'll learn (I particularly liked the informative post about fragrance) and the new habits you just might pick up.
I LOVE this dreamy lookbook by Nasty Gal called "valley girl" starring the gorgeous Pia Mia Perez. Whilst most of the pieces in the collection will have you baring loads of flesh, I think the looks are perfect for my upcoming holiday to Ibiza!
I'm completely taken in by the soft and sheer quality of the chiffon used in the drape back vest (third picture), I need it in my life!
Which is your favorite look from this collection?
P.s, this is the first time I have announced on my blog that I am going back to Ibiza! I cant wait yo, seriously! One more month! :-D Did I mention I am going to Paris and Barcelona too?
I joined the legion of glasses wearers about two weeks ago and I must say, I've been loving the geek chic glasses I picked up from my local opticians. I wear makeup almost everyday so here are my top beauty tips for glasses wearers.
Enhance your eyes:
If you wear wide framed glasses like mine, they can overwhelm your face, so you definitely need to highlight your eyes so they are the focal point. You can do this by enhancing your lashes with a volumising and lengthening mascara, YSL's faux cils is my favorite. Similarly, brighten up your eyes by using white liner on your inner rim just like I did in the picture above.
Avoid fancy eyeshadow blends:
I tend to steer clear of elaborate eye looks when wearing glasses - all your hard work will be hidden behind your frames. Instead, I prefer to bring the focus to my lips by wearing red or pink lipsticks in flattering shades!
Brows:
I've mentioned how brows polish off your look before (here) and its even more important to pay attention to them when you are wearing glasses! I like to use Sleek's Brow contour kit to shapen and refine them.
As I stare out into the dreary landscape that is London this April (where is the spring sunshine we were promised?!), I cant help but wish I were going to Coachella!
Rather than remain wistful, I decided to come up with some festival outfit ideas. If you can't join them, fantasize!
